CONA Introduces New Foot and Ankle Specialist, Dr. Michael Le

(Spartanburg, SC July 18, 2018) Carolina Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Associates (CONA) announced the addition of foot and ankle specialist Dr. Michael Le to their practice. “CONA is proud to welcome Dr. Le, who brings expertise in the latest treatments and procedures to our Foot and Ankle Center of Excellence,” said Kelly Roper, CEO of CONA.

As a fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Le focuses on treating all disorders of the foot and ankle, using the latest operative and non-operative techniques available today.

Tribute for CONA’s Dr. Michael Henderson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our physicians, Dr. Michael Henderson. A native of Spartanburg, Dr. Henderson moved back home after completing his Foot and Ankle fellowship at The Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland to join Orthopaedic Associates, PA where his father also practiced.

Dr. Henderson was in practice for over twenty five years during which he participated in our Sports Medicine Team by serving as team physician for Spartanburg High School. He was dedicated to being there for the students and was on the sidelines at every football game for the Spartanburg High School team. Dr. Henderson served his community of patients well taking time and great care with each patient. Dr. Michael Henderson will be greatly missed. 


CONA Awards Four Scholarships to High School Grads

Spartanburg, SC July 11, 2018- CONA announced today that four High School graduates were the recipients of its Annual W. Howard Tiller, Jr. Memorial Scholarship. 

Scholarship selection criteria are based on a student’s academic achievement, community service and his or her interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. The $1,000 scholarship was offered to graduating seniors of the schools where CONA serves as their team physicians: Spartanburg High School, Dorman High School, Byrnes High School, Woodruff High School and Limestone College.

Spartanburg, SC February 19, 2018- Carolina Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Associates (CONA) announced the addition of neurosurgical specialist Dr. Christie B. CONA’s Dr. Mitchell Serves Victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico

CONA’s very own Dr. David Mitchell traveled to Puerto Rico on Sept. 22 with a team of 33 people throughout S.C. to aid in hurricane relief efforts. Nearly one month after Maria made landfall, residents are still struggling to find necessities such as running water and basic medical supplies.

Dr. Mitchell and team established a temporary headquarters and helped to treat up to 100 residents per day. “We went to go assess area hospitals in Puerto Rico so they could personally tell us what was needed. When there is a disaster, you have to be very flexible,” Mitchell said. “Things that seem easy to do are not.”
